Dr. Philip John, is currently a renowned Consulting Psychiatrist, practicing at Cochin. After completing his MBBS, he completed M.D. in Psychiatry from National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) in 1980. After that he served as Consultant Psychiatrist and later Head, Department of Psychiatry at Medical Trust Hospital, Cochin, for ten years.

Dr John is a recipient of a number of awards and scholarships and has been active as an office bearer in various Psychiatric Societies at the national level.

His interest has ranged from General Hospital Psychiatry (Psychiatric disorders associated with medical problems, and vice versa), Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Learning Disability in Children.

He is presently the Medical Advisor and Consultant at the Child Care Center at Cochin. He has also authored chapters in several Textbooks in Psychiatry.
