Dr J M K Murthy, MD DM FAMS, is currently Chief of Neurology at The Institute of Neurological Sciences, CARE Hospitals, Hyderabad. Dr Murthy’s main areas of interest are Epilepsy, Critical Care Neurology, Tropical Neurology. He is the Founder Editor of Proceedings of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences and is on the Editorial Board of Neurology India (1990 till date), Journal of Physicians of India (1998 till date). Stroke (Indian Edition) (2001 till date), and Epilepsy India (2002 till date. Besides this Dr Murthy has to his credit 130 articles in international and national journals, 11 chapters to various book which include Tropical Neurology, Tropical Neurology, Epilepsy – The Indian Perspective, Handbook of Neurology, Epilepsy in Tropics, API Text Book of Medicine. He has also edited a number of books and monographs. Dr J M K Murthy is a recipient of a number of awards and fellowships and was adjudged as the "Best Reviewer" for the Year 2000 by the API.
